6 Things Your Florist Wants to Know

BUDGET

Know what you can afford and stick to it (or try your best to stay in a range you’re comfortable spending). Your florist can suggest flowers that stay in your price range without sacrificing style or design.

REPURPOSE

Use your ceremony florals and bouquets in your reception decor. This will help save money AND keep a cohesive style throughout your event. Pictured below you’ll see the aisle florals are reused on reception tables.

Keep in mind this may not always be the case to easily reuse your ceremony florals. An example would be if your ceremony is at a different location than your reception. Another example would be if your ceremony was outside, since outdoor florals don’t hold as well in the heat. You wouldn’t want flowers on your reception tables that have lost their hold due to the heat. Instead, use these florals as extras throughout your reception, like at the bar beside your signage.

KEEP YOUR VENUE IN MIND

Is the ceremony taking place outside or inside? The environment plays a part in flower selection, preparation, and installation!

SEASONS MATTER

Different seasons not only influence the venue choice, but also the availability and variety of flowers and greenery.

NOT ALL FLORISTS ARE THE SAME

Take some time to find a florist that fits your wedding style. This will ensure that you know they’ll be able to execute your vision and be FUN to work with.

SCENTS & CENTERPIECES = NO

Overly scented flowers (or scented candles) do not have a place on your tablescape. They’ll interfere with the dining experience you’ve so carefully planned for your guests.
