An Intimate Wedding in Muskoka

That my friends, is a recipe for the most perfect and romantic Muskoka wedding.
An intimate wedding is not for everyone, however, with the current situation we're all facing, I see intimate weddings becoming more popular and that is so exciting to me. Today I'm sharing all about Kathryn & Scotty's gorgeous Muskoka wedding shared with 60 of their nearest & dearest. I'm tellin' ya now, you too will love intimate weddings when you read all about their magical wedding day, or better yet their weekend!
Kathryn & Scotty's wedding weekend started with a rehearsal on the Friday night, where we toured the stunning property they rented for the weekend and did our final walk through.
*A walk through is when we have a final site visit together at your venue, while reviewing all your wedding day details. From where your welcome table will go, to your signature drink details, right until the end of the night confirming what your last wedding song will be.*
As soon as I heard the leaves crackling as I made my way up the driveway, I was in love with this unique wedding location. The open green space where they would say I do, the quaint cottage where the bride and her bridesmaids would spend the night, along with the rest of the wedding party on the wedding night. (After party anyone?) Oh, and to top it off there was a lake on the other side of the property where their cocktail reception would take place and capture the most dreamiest sunset photos from the amazing Laura May Photography. It was so magical and the perfect location for Kathryn & Scotty to say "I Do", since they love to spend their weekends at their own cottage.
Once the rehearsal was finished, the wedding party joined the couple's family in the cottage for a casual rehearsal dinner, while our team made sure all the logistics were taken care of for tomorrow's big celebration. The clear tent from Westway Tents was up, the harvest tables and gold Florence chairs were delivered, and now it was time to head back to our bed & breakfast to prep everything else for tomorrow's celebration. (like making sure extra copies of the timeline and floor plan are printed for all vendors or packing small decor items like your card box and guest book)
The wedding day was here, and I was so excited to watch it all come together. This wedding was special to me, actually all the weddings I have the opportunity to plan & design are precious to me. But this wedding was extra special, because Kathryn & Scotty are my neighbours and I actually went to high school with Scotty. They are such sweet and kind individuals, so having them trust me with their wedding meant the world. Let's relive this beautiful day together and see why intimate weddings are nothing but spectacular!

The bride is all ready to go in her gorgeous dress from Sash & Bustle, so it's now time to take some portraits and capture special wedding day moments with her ladies before she marries her best friend!
The groomsmen are all ready to go at the groom's family cottage down the road. They give me a shout letting me know they are on their way, so I can work with Laura to ensure Kathryn is ready for her first look with Scotty by the water upon his arrival. Ahhh, this is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day! (for those couples who choose to do a first look)
Guests have arrived and now it's time for the ceremony to begin. The wedding party heads down the aisle with the biggest smiles, just like we practiced the night before at the rehearsal. The aisle is clear, guests are asked to stand as they welcome the beautiful bride accompanied by her father.
The bride's cousin officiated their ceremony. How special is that? My heart! Wanna talk about making your wedding personal, which is a MUST for me! The copper structure was made by the groom, while the dream catchers were made by the bride and her MOH. These little details are what makes your wedding unique and memorable!
After the ceremony, guests made their way across the road to the water for the cocktail reception. They enjoyed wine and cold 'canoe' beers with some delicious hors d'oeuvres from Encore Catering. While guests were enjoying the view, Kathryn & Scotty took a few photos with their families and some portraits as a newly married couple, before joining their guests by the water. At this time, our team was over at the reception moving all the ceremony chairs to the tent and putting the final details together with Margarita from Oudalova Events & Design before the big reveal. DJ Mike from Tiger 8 Entertainment had the tunes going and we were ready for a fun night ahead!
This intimate Muskoka wedding was definitely one for the books and I will be forever grateful to have been part of such a beautiful wedding weekend.
