What a beautiful wedding this was, from the vendors who made Monika and Shawn’s day flawless, to the completely down-to-earth love you could feel on their day, everything was out of a fairy tale. When you hear people talk about love — real love — sometimes it can be hard to envision, but on this day, it was so easily felt between this beautiful couple.

The venue our beautiful couple chose was a smaller studio rental in downtown Toronto, I Got Dreams Studios, which was such an amazing space and added such aesthetic details like the red brick, vintage furniture, and wool carpet already included in the space.

One of our favourite details that Monika and Shawn wanted to include in the ceremony — that we loved — was a wall of photo frames that included their family, them as children, along with past loved ones. What a beautiful way to honour those who have passed into their wedding day.

In another beautifully lit room at I Got Dreams Studio, Monika settled in to get ready, joined by the incredibly talented Dee Lewis, who styled her golden curls, and Sasha Taylor Makeup Artistry, who completed her bridal look.

Surrounded by calm and excitement, she slipped into her dress and prepared for what came next, a heartfelt first look with Shawn, a moment beautifully captured by Cristina Velasco Photography.

Throughout both the ceremony and reception spaces, the flowers were truly what brought everything together, beautifully crafted by Melissa from Arteeza_Flowers.

When we talk to clients about decorations, they’re usually either a couple that values florals or one that prefers candles and string lights. It’s important to reflect on the cost of these decisions; florals can be more of an investment, but everything is possible within any budget; you just have to consciously allocate the funds for it.

Following the stunning ceremony came the cocktail style reception, which included delicious passed apps and a large grazing station full of cured meats, variety of cheese and dips and so much more! With an entrance that was met with a warm welcome from guests, a truly heart-wrenching speech from both Monika & Shawn and a toast with a fireball shot that was a cute start to the reception, the party began!

Something that truly brought the reception together was the absolutely delicious food catered by Heirloom Fine Foods. No detail was lost in their food, from the visually beautiful spread laid out to the appetizers being passed out during the party, everything tasted phenomenal.

The laughter shared among family and friends who truly cared for this couple made the day unforgettable. Everything about this wedding was enough to make your heart full.
