Destination Wedding Locations in Spain

From the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean to the enchanting streets of historic cities, Spain offers a tapestry of romantic backdrops for your dream destination wedding. Whether you envision exchanging vows amidst the stunning vistas of the Spanish countryside or celebrating in the heart of vibrant urban culture, Spain beckons with an array of exquisite wedding locations.

Keep reading to explore the most captivating venues this stunning country has to offer, each promising to elevate your wedding into an unforgettable affair filled with love, beauty, and timeless charm!

These fabulous suggestions came from the amazing photography duo, Junilo & Lindsay from Ugo Photography who lived in Spain for nearly 10 years, so you know they are some of the BEST venues in the country to say “I do” at.

Finca Mas Solers

A gorgeous villa just outside Barcelona which makes it super accessible.  It has the quintessential Mediterranean feel and the grounds are absolutely stunning.  Although it doesn't offer accommodations, it’s so close to Barcelona, there are lots of options for guests to stay nearby.

Gran Villa Rosa

This stunning villa is just outside Barcelona which make it super easy to get to for your destination wedding.  It has the option of accommodations for couples and their guests, so a lot of the work of planning for guests is taken care of.  Another perk of this venue is that it’s near the coast and features super unique architecture.

The Relais & Chateaux Hotels:

All of the Relais hotels feature superior accommodations and services, so when you’re planning your wedding at one of their venues it takes a lot of th eplanning off your plate.

One location we would highly suggest would be the Faustino Gran Hotel in Menora (The Balearic Islands). It’s luxurious and hosts intimate and larger wedding celebrations.

One advantage to the Islands is the climate is very pleasant come spring and you are super close to the stunning beaches and coastline (which are incredible for photos!).  One thing you should consider with this wedding venue location is that you and your guests will arrive in Madrid/Barcelona, then will have to take another flight. However, with a gorgeous location like this that is nestled in natural beauty, we promise it will be worth it!

The Balearic Islands get very busy come summer, so if you were thinking of this location as an option, it probably would be best in spring (up till mid-June) or during fall as hotels and villas would fill up quickly.

La Torre del Visco

If you dream about getting married in the countryside, then this boutique hotel is the perfect wedding venue for you! It’s close to the Catalan region and it's one of many of the Relais & Chateaux hotels.  It’s very intimate and the service is impeccable, so you’ll feel like true royalty. The countryside and landscape are absolutely stunning; however, it is a bit of a trek from both Barcelona and Madrid.  However, if you’re looking for an authentic 'Spanish' experience, this is an incredible option for you.  Famous actors stay here very often as their service and privacy is top notch.

Villa Padierna (South of Spain-Marbella)

One of the most exclusive villas in Spain and in one of the most exclusive destinations - Marbella.

Fun fact: they call Marbella 'the playground for the rich', so if you want to feel like true royalty on your wedding day this venue might be the perfect fit for you.

The Villa is truly breathtaking and is very exclusive, so is on the higher end side for wedding venue. However, it does have options for large weddings up to 420 guests in their Linares Terrace and Ballroom, or if you’re looking for something more intimate La Veranda Terrace can host up to 140 guests.

We must say though, it’s probably one of the most stunning settings for a destination wedding in the Mediterranean sun!

Finca Marqués de Montemolar

This beautiful villa is located south of Valenica, just north of Alicante and has a variety of spaces to choose from for your wedding depending of the size and look you want to achieve.

It hosts beautiful celebrations overlooking the sea and features the typical architecture and gardens of the Spanish Mediterranean. The weather is really beautiful in this part of the country, with many more sunny days than the north! Come early spring, even if it's still a bit cool it's super sunny, which means absolute perfection for your golden hour light wedding day photos. Since it’s close to several large towns and cities, it’s a bit easier to get to so can be the perfect location for your destination wedding. Another perk of this wedding venue would be that you and your guests have the option of staying here, so it makes planning a destination wedding in Spain that much easier!

Hotel Iturregi

A boutique hotel which features the typical architecture of the northern region of Spain (San Sebastian).  It is a short drive from the stunning coastline of the Bay of Biscay with lots of locations for stunning views and photographs.

If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, then you might be interested to know that it was filmed on the coast, just five minutes away from this hotel!

Hotel Iturregi hosts intimate weddings, both ceremonies and intimate dinner celebrations; however, outside catering would be required.  A huge plus for this location is that you and your guests can stay at the hotel.

The north of Spain is absolutely breathtaking; however, the weather is a little bit more unpredictable.  If you really like the idea of a northern Spain destination, it would be best to wait until after Semana Santa, closer to May as the weather tends to become a bit better during this time of year.

As our journey through Spain's enchanting wedding venues comes to a close, it's clear that this vibrant country offers a plethora of options for couples seeking the perfect setting for their destination wedding!

Spain effortlessly weaves together romance, culture, and natural beauty to create unforgettable wedding experiences. If you’re looking to get married abroad, then you’ll want to consider one of these Spanish villas or hotels as your wedding venue.
